WATER: Stay Hydrated for More Energy and Faster Fat Loss!

Water is an underestimated nutrient.  To be deprived of any other nutrient, we probably would survive for months or even years.  But go without water, and we would last only a few days.  Considering nutritional supplements to lose weight or gain muscle?  Don’t forget about the most important one.  WATER!  Incredible as it may seem, water is quite possibly the single most important catalyst in losing weight and keeping it off as well as helping and preventing other common problems.

Water suppresses the appetite and helps the body metabolize stored fat.  Studies have shown that a decrease in water intake will cause fat deposits to increase, while an increase in water intake can actually reduce fat deposits.

Here’s why:  The kidneys cannot function properly without enough water.  When they do not work to capacity, some of the load is dumped onto the liver.  One of the livers primary functions in the body is to metabolize stored fat and turn it into usable energy.  If the liver is doing the kidneys work, it cannot metabolize fat as effectively thus leading to weight gain or halting weight loss.

Drinking plenty of water is also the best treatment for fluid retention.  As you drink more, your body is willing to release more, thus causing a decrease in fluid retention.  If your body does not get enough water, it sees this as a threat and begins to hold onto fluids.
