Why Accountability Is Critical For Achieving Winning Results

Accountability Is critical for achieving winning results.  It may seem obvious, but accountability is probably the single most important element fueling truly successful clients. When done right, accountability can empower clients,  and increase their skills, confidence and overall results.

Sets Expectations:

In order for a client to work at maximum capacity, each client must be held fully accountable for their own tasks. Responsibility, along with specificity of expectations, are key to the overall success of a client.

Accountability though, is not a one-time, sometime thing; it’s an all-time thing. Those people who don’t want to be accountable, or held accountable, are always looking for any opportunities to get out of it any slips, or gaps in your accountability will give them the out they need, to only be accountable when they see fit.  Therefore, to be successful, be accountable at all times.

Ensures Ownership:

Accountability results in a highly efficient and productive person.  The key point is having the client take full responsibility and ownership for their part of the process. When people take ownership if things start to go wrong, then they step into solution mode. They then start to try and figure out what’s going wrong and they then try and fix it.

Builds Trust:

Accountability builds trust. Trainers need to have open communication and stand by their decisions and actions, so that all clients understand the rules and expectations and also know that these are the expectations of all clients.

Breeds Excellence:

The best way to encourage positive outcomes and discourage unfavorable ones is to reward excellence, while correcting behavior that doesn’t live up to expectations.

Strengthens the Process and Improves Execution:

Without accountability, execution suffers; and a lack of accountability can have a snowball effect on later tasks. When you make clients accountable for their actions and behaviors, you’re effectively teaching them to value the process and execute better.
